Oberon, Blue Mountains: Dog-Friendly Camping at Aurora

We booked a long weekend getaway at Aurora-Exclusive, a spectacular property set on 150 acres of natural terrain with breathtaking escarpment views near Oberon, just two hours from Sydney's CBD. Matt, our host, was absolutely fantastic—welcoming and helpful without being intrusive, making our arrival seamless with clear directions to this secluded paradise. The privacy was incredible, perched on a hill with spectacular views, including the kangaroos that wandered through our camp. The evening sky filled with many stars, and with campfires permitted and firewood available for purchase, we spent magical nights around the crackling fire, taking in the serene mountain atmosphere. This truly felt like our own private slice of the Blue Mountains, where we could disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature. This is my photoreport.

We went for a drive to Oberon and discovered this place. The Milbrey, an amazing all day breakfast&lunch spot and on the veranda, dogs were welcome.

One of my favorite pieces from my outdoor adventure outfit are these Mountain Horse Devonshire Boots. I purchased them via EQ Saddery.

We visited Megalong Valley Tea Rooms because we could take our dog with us, also it was on our way back, with a little detour to this location. This charming tearoom is famous for its apple pie made to the same recipe for over 60 years and their legendary homemade scones. The 15-minute winding drive from Blackheath through pockets of rainforest rewards you with panoramic mountain views and a peaceful country setting.
